Great British Expectations
The UK is in a brilliant position to be amongst the leaders in the global green revolution, and as we emerge from Covid-induced lockdowns, we must be ready to take our place.
However, requirements around deadlines aren’t always factoring interruptions as a result of the pandemic and Brexit. As a business, we are now experiencing delays from customs checks - which was to be expected due to major changes at our borders - yet there is a disconnect between these longer delivery times and client expectations.
This is frustrating for all stakeholders, particularly as we come out of the current economic crisis, but we must accommodate for these delays. To mitigate these issues, we don’t have to change deadlines, simple things like starting the procurement process sooner and awarding contracts 6 weeks earlier would allow for understandable delays in manufacturing and customs checks.
Making adjustments to the time frames will take the stress out of such situations!
To allow the UK’s Green Sector to push forward and deliver the services, goods, and infrastructure the UK needs to tackle Climate Change, we need to manage our Great British Expectations!
